Total Game Milestones

26 May 2014 by Frank The Falcon

Knox Baseball Club would like to recognise some outstanding achievements by some of our members that are about to play milestone games.

Adrian Rice- games total- 390. Adrian has been around the club forever, in his 390 senior games adrian has won multiple Premierships along as a number of M.V.P’s.
We look forward to Adrian surpassing Davids 623 games player.

Warrick Searle- games total – 295. Wazza, club committee member and 4’s & U/13 Coach. Willing to step in to do a role that can’t be filled, Warrick is an important part of the club. One of the only guys you will see that will catch 5 bullpens at training then turn around and throw one himself.

Dale Oldriks- games total 93. Dale has been an off and on again member at Knox for the last 10 years. He is currently the backbone of the 2’s, Club Coach Mitch Ayres said “having a guy like Dale around the club and the 2’s is fantastic, he has a cool head in pressure situations and comes up with the clutch play or hit late in the game.”

Steve Williams- games total 295. Steve is part of the generation that grew up at Knox Baseball Club. Steve has coached and won multiple grand finals. Despite getting a bit long in the tooth, Steve still manages to make unbelievable diving plays in centre field that are expected base hits. Look out for Steve’s son Daniel who will be starting in the 1’s in 10 years.

Geoff Agnew-games played 545.
Geoff was made a Life member in 2012 for years of service as coach and mentor to young up and coming players. Geoff holds the 2nd highest games played for Knox Baseball Club and holds the record for most hits of pitches that have bounced.

Jordan Elliot-games played 147. Jordan is coach of the 2’s who have started the started the season of with a fantastic record of 5 wins and 1 loss. Jordan has baseball knowledge most wouldn’t expect from someone still on his green P’s.

Davie Tierney- games played 148. Dave started his senior career at Knox baseball club as a 14 year old. he then went to G.M.B.C and won a fistful of A grade Premierships before coming back to Knox to co-coach the 1’s to a B-grade flag. Not only is he McDreamy but he has an unbelievable knack of telling stories and relating them to how much his batting average was for that year.

Next time you see these guys give em a pat on the back and shout em a beer, its the least they deserve for their efforts!
